Tom Cruise and its anti aging secret : Geisha Facial , what is it ?

I read in the news today that Tom Cruise has a secret anti-aging treatment called Geisha Facial, which is a Japanese treatment.

Victoria Beckham popularized the phrase "Uguisu no fun", which translates as "nightingale feces."
Here's the link to the article.

Wow, I'd heard about this coffee made from bird poop before, but a natural anti-aging treatment?

I wanted to learn more about this treatment:

The Geisha Facial is a Japanese anti-aging treatment that involves the application of powdered nightingale excrement.
It is applied to the face after being mixed with rice bran and water.

This "natural" ingredient aids in exfoliation and is said to play a key role in "turning back the hands of time."
It also restores skin that has been damaged by acne or excessive sun exposure.

Actually, it is mostly rice bran who is a powerful exfoliant. It will also neutralize the odor of the bird feces.
According to wikipedia it's not totally clear how this facial works.
Urea and guanine are both highly concentrated in nightingale guano.
Birds excrete both feces and urine through a single orifice called the cloaca, which results in a high concentration of urea in the droppings.
Urea is used in cosmetics because it helps to keep moisture in the skin.
The guanine may cause shiny, iridescent effects on the skin.

It is said that the nightingale's short intestine causes the droppings to include protein, an enzyme that breaks down fat, and an enzyme that lightens skin by acting on scurf and fat to lighten it and even out blemishes.

So I checked about the reviews... and clearly it i said that it does work ! The Uguisu Poo Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask is a bit gimmicky, but it definitely works. After just one application, you can expect smoother, softer, and more glowing skin.
So... am I prepared to apply bird feces to my face?
Even if I can find a reasonable price on the Internet (the article says that Tom Cruise used to pay up to 180 USD one hour at the spa for this treatment...), I wanted to return to the foundation of natural anti-aging skincare, which is well defined in the Biogerontology research "Natural anti-aging skincare: role and potential."
(here)

"Natural anti-aging ingredients, which primarily follow hormetic pathways, have the potential to be useful as moisturizing agents, barrier repair agents, antioxidants, vitamins, hydroxy acids, skin lightening agents, anti-inflammatory ingredients, and sunblock ingredients."
Essentially, the key to a good natural anti-aging regimen is:
- a good moisturizer,

- Agents for repairing barriers

- anti-inflammatory agents

- Vitamins and minerals

- the hydroxy acids

- skin lightening

- anti-inflammation

- sunscreen

So I believe there are other natural anti-aging remedies I'd rather use than "Uguisu no fun," but it is up to each of us to find the right one for us...
